Candiac is a planned South Shore suburb of roughly 23,000 people as of the 2021 Census, named after the Marquis de Montcalm's French birthplace. It's served by the exo Candiac commuter rail line, which runs nine stations to the Lucien-L'Allier terminus in downtown Montreal.
