Lethbridge is one of Alberta's few genuine university towns. The University of Lethbridge enrolls around 9,000 students across arts, science, health sciences, education, management, and fine arts. Its iconic Arthur Erickson-designed University Hall spans a coulee ravine. Students typically live in West Lethbridge, close to campus.

Lethbridge College (around 4,200 students) is on the south side and focuses on applied and technical programs, including its well-known agriculture and criminal justice streams.
