Section 1
North Vancouver at a glance
The City of North Vancouver is the smallest and most urbanized of the communities on Metro Vancouver's North Shore, with 58,120 people in Statistics Canada's 2021 Census, up from 52,898 in 2016. It covers about 11.8 square kilometres across Burrard Inlet from Vancouver, and the District of North Vancouver, a separate municipality, surrounds it on three sides.
Much of the rental stock is in apartment and condo buildings, with many high-rises in Central Lonsdale and Lower Lonsdale. Lonsdale Quay is the hub for the SeaBus to downtown Vancouver and for local buses, so renters who work in Vancouver often search close to it. British Columbia's Residential Tenancy Act applies to every tenancy here.
